RACEDAY PREVIEW

LEICESTER boss Stewart Dickson wants to see big support for both the club’s teams with a double header of racing tonight (6pm).

Both the club’s Championship and National Development League teams race on a bumper occasion meaning 30 races, hence the earlier start time.

The Watling JCB Lions face Kent Kings as they look to secure third spot and a clash with Scunthorpe in the play-offs. A win would put them level on 42 with Redcar but points difference would place Leicester above the Bears ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Glasgow.

Dickson said: “We’re looking forward to a great night of racing and it’s a great opportunity for fans to come and enjoy 30 races of speedway.

“I believe our owners deserve to see the Paul Chapman and Sons Arena packed at Beaumont Park, we’re all looking forward to it.

“I always said I felt we had a team capable of winning at places like Scunthorpe, Redcar and Glasgow, and that could still propel us into the mix at the top.

“We did it at Scunthorpe, we should have done it at Redcar where I won’t say any more about the refereeing decision which cost us, but we still got a draw there – and I still believe we can win at Glasgow tomorrow.

“Our win at Kent last Tuesday was very important, especially getting all four points which really was a bonus and something I wasn’t necessarily expecting beforehand.”
